An Autumn of Remembering…

“Those who have long enjoyed such privileges as we enjoy, forget in time that men have died to win them.” Franklin Delano Roosevelt

As we enter my very favorite time of year, many opportunities exist to remember those who have sacrificed their lives for our country, those who are currently serving, and those who have served. I meant to post this link on September 11th, but it will continue to be relevant throughout every year. Veterans Day, Armed Forces Day, and Memorial Day each represent one of the groups I mentioned above. Memorial Day is our remembrance of those who died to maintain our Freedom. Veterans Day honors the men and women who have served in our military. Armed Forces Day represents those who currently serve. I include our first responders in my reverence because many are veterans, but all have dedicated their lives to make ours safer. Heroes all.

“Mighty Men of Valor”

From Joshua through II Chronicles, the Bible speaks about “mighty men of valor”. In the present day, we have mighty men and women of valor. This medley of the official songs of each branch of the military is a favorite of mine to play. Not only are the tunes familiar to all of us, but they are inspiring! Enjoy listening. I am also posting an information link on each of the songs. In order of performance in the medley, they are: “The Army Goes Rolling Along” (U. S. Army – The Caisson Song), “Anchors Aweigh” (U.S. Navy), “Marines’ Hymn” (U.S. Marine Corps), “Semper Paratus” (U.S. Coast Guard), and “The U.S. Air Force”.
